In honour of my beautiful mum and for all the families walking this path.
This isn’t just a business for me it's deeply personal.
My mum was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in her 60s and is now in the final stages of her life.
Watching someone you love slowly slip away piece by piece, is one of the most painful experiences. It’s not just a memory lost, it’s the loss of independence, identity, connection and eventually recognition.
What makes it even harder is knowing there’s no cure, no way to stop it and no clear path to slow it down. It affects the entire family in different ways and every day becomes about adapting, comforting and grieving in small silent ways. For children, it’s something they should never have to witness, no child should have to watch their grandparent or parent fade before their eyes.
This is why I’m committed to making a difference, even in a small way.
Part proceeds from every sale will go directly to Alzheimer's research, because we need answers. We need hope, we need better support, better treatments and someday a cure.
Everything I create through embillie.co carries a deeper purpose, it’s a way I honour my mum’s life, her strength, the lessons she continues to teach me about love, grace and letting go.
A Special Memory I’ll Always Treasure
In 2023 I had the absolute privilege of taking my Mum to see her favourite (living) artist in concert, Ed Sheeran or “our Ed” as she lovingly calls him.
Despite the crowd and struggling a little with her balance, she lit up as soon as the music started. Holding her hand and watching her face glow with joy is a memory I’ve locked into my heart forever.
Thank you, Ed for giving us a truly special experience, one I will cherish for the rest of my life.
